Maybe it’s because of how they are doing their testing? Canada’s health care is completely different than ours. So they don’t need to pad the numbers for $$$$$.
Bingo!
Just what I have thought about this situation for some time now.
Go figure.

WTH does the border being closed due to the Rona have to do with pepper spray?
Did you read the entire thread? - hornet28ExplorerIt's 2 Model T roadster bodies. They won't qualify as essential nor would the travel to get them. As far as shipping I have other things bought in Mt. & N.D. and will do just one trip. My trailer for hauling these things has 29" of bed space
- FishermanExplorerIs there something about the item that it can't be shipped via transport, Fed Up, Oops or some other carrier?

I have an item bought and paid for in Feb in Saskatchewan. I was supposed to pick it up 2 wks ago. But because of the closing I'm in limbo as too when that can happen
If it were a medical item, you could probably talk your way across. Other than that...after June 21st...and then wait in line...

Funny, I never would have thought of pepper spray as an offensive weapon. Seems to me that it is for defense only. “Intent” can be a very dangerous notion legally.i only intended to rob him, I did not intend for him to die. Therefore you can’t charge me with murder.
As far as the border goes, like you said, it’s your country, your half of the border. I will always defend a country’s sovereignty to do what ever they wish within their borders as long as it doesn’t affect anyone’s basic human rights. If Canada doesn’t want our tourism dollars, so be it.
cmarkj...
What many fail to note in my post...Canada/US borders closed. Both ways...not just for tourists coming to Canada..but the same type of person isn't entering the US.

Bear sprays in larger containers are OK in Canada, sprays for use against humans like Mace are not.
Nope. This was evidently the bad kind. Lesson learned. I'll be a better guest next time.
It's kind of an odd distinction, I'm sure bear spray would work very nicely on humans.
It’s not an ‘odd’ distinction, it’s a legal distinction. Bear or wasp spray is a common product for a legitimate innocuous use. Pepper spray is an offensive weapon and illegal in Canada.
There’s lots of such quirks in Canadian criminal law. It’s mostly based on intent.

Yes, bear spray will stop a human pretty dam quick.
I found that out one day while checking that my old container was still pressurized.
Just as I pulled the trigger a gust of wind came up and send the spray back toward me. Had a tough time catching my breath and it burnt like h*ll.
I would never want to get sprayed directly
