1972 Ford RV - Can't find any info

I found this old fixer upper that I want to get. It's listed as a 8 cylinder 1972 Ford RV and has the word "Scout" on it in the pictures. I want to find some sort of owner's manual so I can research properly before I get it but I can't seem to find any information on it anywhere! I can't even find any pictures of this model. Literally the only match I could find was this website url=https://www.imcdb.org/v799355.html which is not a lot to go off of. It's very beat up but if I want to fix it up, I'd like to have something to go off with the electrical system and design. If anyone knows anywhere I could find information on this model, it'd be much appreciated!

I have used this many times in the past. Lately Norton gives a security warning:

"This is a known dangerous web page. It is highly recommended that you do NOT visit this page."

Norton can give false positives so who knows...
  • Typical owners manual won't help you with electrical diagrams etc - even in new RV's. Most RV's have pretty std setups. Over simplified .... coach batteries typically run to a main panel which has both DC and AC breakers/fuses. The main panel is usually attached to a converter (converts AC to DC). In many cases there is a wire which runs from the main panel to the Chassis battery .. and that usually runs though a battery isolator (separates chassis/coach batteries unless ignition key in on position).

If you have specific electrical issue there is usually someone who can provide you with guidance.

Please report back in 5 or 10 years when you have it all fixed up.
  • In 1972 Class C's were built by cutting away the Van body shell,
So for chassis get a Chilton's Book that covers 72 Ford Vans
As for the RV interior 12v wiring, it's unlikely any documentation exists,
No schematics, no routing diagrams, you'll be super lucky just to find a digital copy of a sales brochure
I would Google read thru and search online copies of popular mechanics magazine for 1971 & 72, you might find a review article or advertising info

Finding info on a 38 yr old rig is fruitless. Gut it and build it to your specs, just like we do with our hot rods....D
