Another small advantage to having a tag is that you have a set of tires to rotate to the front if needed. In our case, I received a bad alignment and didn't know it for 2,000 miles (alignment done in California). I checked the front tires and notice obvious wear on the insides of both front tires. So, I took it to a reputable truck alignment place in Nashville.
They rotated my tag tires to the front so I had a fresh set with no wear. Put a total of 57,000 miles before I replaced with a new set of Michelins (tires were 7 yrs. old by the date codes).
Our coach has a lifting tag. Some coaches, like the Prevost brand chassis, the tag releases pressure but doesn't lift, the Newell coaches have steerable tags.
