Hi,
while browsing for a Class A unit I have seen some that have 2 rear axles. Actually I have seen this on a couple of C class units. Is there any real benefit of this setup. Are both axles drive axles ?
thanks
On our dinosaur of a P-32 gas puller chassis, the tag is required at 36ft and provides for an extra 4500# of carrying capacity (CC), which incidentally is not a drive axle. You'll also find them on most any modern Diesel Pushers over 40ft, as they also need the extra capacity. As for pros and cons, they handle better with the tail never wagging the dog, like some and are much more stable all the way around. For this, you have more hardware, moving parts, weight and two extra wheels and tires to support financially.
