2004 Tiffin Allegro Bay vs. 2008 Fleetwood Fiesta

Hi everyone! My husband and I are in the market for a class A motorhome (first-time buyers) and will be transitioning into full-timing. Our budget is between $30-40k and we're currently looking at two privately sold options: a 2004 Tiffin Allegro Bay and a 2008 Fleetwood Fiesta.

The Tiffin seems like a higher quality option in every way, with more amenities, but it's age causes us to lean more toward the Fleetwood. Both are around the same price. What would you say is the better option? Older, but higher quality, or younger with lower quality?

  • There is so much more that we do not know.
    Which chassis/engine? Both Gas? etc.
The reason to ask is various years an engine manufacturer had spark plug problems.
    Another had overheating issues.
Refrigerators had recalls due to them catching fire. So has the recall fix been done ?
Either rig and you will probably be looking at buying all new tires. Yes I know the tires on the rigs look great but Motor home tires usually do not wear out they age out becoming very prone to blow outs. This can cause thousands of dollars of damage. Usually they are changed out every 5-7 years, less year if not taken care of (or you do not know first hand) more if you cover them when not rolling down the highway.
