- frankdampExplorerx2 on FC's opinion. Our '02 (an '01 chassis build) has been flawless as far as chassis and motor related things go. Our previous rig was a 26' Class C and had a 460 V8 with a carb. Carburetor is a French irregular verb that means "leave well enough alone".
What a piece of rubbish that thing was (6 mpg at sea level and around 4.5 at altitude). Our 32' Class A with V-10 gets a consistent 8 mpg regardless of altitude and has more power than the 460. A lot of people are not comfortable with the relatively high revs of the V-10. I'm used to racing motorcycles whose engines develop peak torque at 15,000 rpm and peak power at 24,000, so the V-10 pulling 3800 up a long hill is no big deal. - FCExplorerI have a 2003 Georgetown with the earlier version of the V-10 and its a great motor. No real issues. We bought it new.
JM2CW - RamairExplorerwe have a 2012 GT 378XL and I have not had any issues with the power and I tow my 2012 Chevy Cruze. Towing 4 down I get approx. 7.5mpg and without the cruze approx. 8mpg. Of course this depends on how fast you drive and wind conditions and such. I keep her around 65 mph and we love it. Hope this helps you..
