2012 Georgetown LP Tank Size

is 24 gl in our 350TS. That seems kind of small. There is plenty of room in the bay for a much bigger tank. I was talking to another 350TS owner who commented he'd never seen such a small LP tank in a 350TS.
Can the tank be replaced with a larger one? Was LP tank size an option that I missed?

I started to say no that it was diesel, but in all honesty I don't really know. I'll get back to you on this one.:h

If you do, THAT is why you have the extra large LP tank. Doug

24 gal is the only option for your coach and the 2014 models as well. So, it appears that the other owner was mistaken. My current coach has a 38 gal. My last coach had a 25 gal and my first coach I believe had a 24 gal tank. We're typically out for 6 months and I've never had to refill the tank. Having said that I seldom use the furnace. In the past if we had elect we have used ceramic heaters in the living room and bedroom (1 ea). Our current coach has heated tile floors and we did have to turn that on a couple of times this year but no furnace. As others have said you should be good with 24 gals.

  • Ok. I was basing my "seems kind of small" comment on the fact that our old Dynasty had a 75 gl tank; it was huge. Only filled it once in 3 years. Of course, we only used it for hot water and cooking. Never had to use it for heat.
So you're thinking that a 24 gl tank would be normal for a 36' coach?

Thanks - I really appreciate your input.
  • No OEM options LP tank size/capacity. It is usually based on weight and where it is mounted for even weight distribution and GVRW of the RV. 24 to 30 gallons is the norm on most motorhomes. Doug
  • IF there is physically room a larger tank could be installed........but at what cost?? New tank/remove old/install new???

24 gallons of propane should last the average user several months. We go typically 6 weeks on 7 gallons unless it really cold.

    Example:
    90,000 btu/gal of propane.....furnace 30,000 btu/hr
    3 hr/gal x 24/gal=72 hrs---6 hr./day=12 really cold days

Just not seeing the cost/benefit of installing a larger tank...if there really is room
