The wife and I are looking at a 28’ DS Chevy with 20,000 miles very clean this would be our first RV and first experience of camping going to use it to travel and haul a motorcycle in the trailer they are asking $43900 I think that’s a little high any advice would be appreciated retiring in 2 years

If you provide more info on the coach you will get a better response on the proposed price. Year, mileage, engine/drive train, options, condition, etc would be good. Ok it’s a 2014 coachman freelander with 20,000 miles 28DS very clean ?? that’s a 4500 Chevy chassis it’s at a RV dealer in Alliance Ohio small dealer mainly sell trailers travel that is and service very good people to talk to I have not driven it yet just started looking couple months ago was up in the air whether I wanted to pull one or drive one, they also have a 2011 E450 Ford chassis Chateau 31, with 25,000 miles it was clean maybe not quite as clean as the coachman but it was clean I did like the 28 DS layout better he was really trying to push the Ford and had hydraulic leveling system also that they had installed, I think it belong to a relative of theirs These units are both on consignment Thanks That trailer I would be pulling what have a Harley limited 2016

I have a 15 freelander. Understand that freelanders are entry-level units and their construction reflects that. The cabover and roof construction is outmoded and requires continuous resealing. Given this, they require far more attention to maintenance than more expensive models with solid cabover caps and better build quality. Entry level was good enough for what we use ours for so we factored that into our decision to buy, and the lower price point let us have more unit for our money. I can’t comment on the price, just be sure you’re making an apples to apples comparison as you shop. Good luck!

Thank you I was not aware it was an entry level unit I know the cabinetry and interior is very nice, is your freelander on a Chevrolet chassis ?

Although it is an entry level and in great shape one clear advantage is that it on Chevy Chassis It will give you a larger drivers area,smoother,quietier ride among a lot of other advantages. I really like my RV on a Chevy Chassis,it also gets just a bit more MPG than the same one on a Ford Chassis and a larger fuel tank,by 2 gallons ...:B
