a/c works on shore power but not generator power

2009 Coachman Class A. Generac generator. A/C works fine on shore power...won't work when using the generator,. (yes, plugged into receptacle and outlet shows 120 on each leg...to ground did not check...

Our A/C wasn't running with the genny, took the cover off the genny and there were 2 circuit breaker switches one was in the off position. Made sure both were in the on position and everything works. May it be so simple for you too. :)
