We have a 2009 Fleetwood Discovery 39r we are having trouble with our air brake system. We have all the manuals but there is nothing in any the manuals showing where the air brakes are located. I have tried to find one on Google with no luck. Does anyone know where the air brakes are located? Does anyone know where to find a diagram or schematic that will help us. We are out of town and reallyNeed help. Thank you.

The brakes are located at each wheel.What kind of problem are you having and what are you trying to find?

I have a 2005 Excursion - basically the same thing. I'm not sure what you're asking - where are the air brakes.The brake peddle is down at your feet at the base of the steering column. The brakes themselves are located on each wheel. The air tanks (on the 2005) are located back behind the generator. The cables to drain them are on frame rail to the right of generator. The air dryer is on the left side back by the rear axle. The knob to activate the air parking brake is below the dash to the left of the steering column.Also, call Fleetwood, they're good at answering your questions.And when you have a question like this, don't sign off and disappear right away. Two people came back quickly with answers even though we don't really understand your question. You could have provided clarification and had better answers by now.Bill

Air brakes aren't located in any one spot they are several components located in many places. What are you looking for?the brakes are on the wheels just like any other brake. There are air tanks under the coach air compressor bolted to the engine and air dryer located somewhere in the rear wheel or engine area. Air valves at the brake pedal and "parking brake " push pull. I google air brakes and get a ton of hits ... your air brakes are no different than a semi trucks in design .. read up on their use. To understand better how they work . What's it not doing ? Perhaps someone can help with more info

Go to any state driver license office and pick up a Commercial Driver License booklet. They contain an air brake section that should answer your questions. A single axle air brake equipped truck is typical of how the two axle motor home is set up. Read it, study it. You will be much better informed about a very critical system on your vehicle.

Hmmm?? I googled air brake diagram, and got this response

followed by many diagrams and a you tube video.

The information is out there. You must be doing something different with your google search.

ALL diesel LT's have hydraulic brakes. None of them use vacuum.
Many of them have vacuum pumps but they have nothing to do with the brakes.

Where did all those silly answers come from? A 2009 Fleetwood DP is a diesel on a FL chassis and certainly has air brakes. Any person who asks where are the air brakes should park that MH ands DO NOT drive it until you understand basic air brakes. You could kill someone! BTW: There are diesel vehicles with hydraulic brakes and a VACUUM pump.

Vacuum boost??? Hydraulic boost??? ON AIR BRAKES. WOW.

As suggested, go to your state licensing authority and get the CDL book. It will be FREE and will go into great detail on your air brake system.

OR get information from your chassis maker-- they designed and assembled your air brake system.

2005 Fleetwood Excursion 39S, Cat C7, Allison, Retarder, AND AIR BRAKES. Where did you get the idea that they didn't have air brakes - are you thinking of a Ford Excursion?

Diesel trucks use a hydroboost for power brakes, not vacuum.
