Airport Parking (Not Boondocking)?

Every major airport has a parking information number & most have a large vehicle parking area. I have personally left my MH at Orlando, Charlotte, Raleigh & Milwaukee

Depending on your estimated time at home, I'd look into an RV park and taxi to the airport.

Yeah, might be more secure. Notify the campground hosts to keep an eye on it. Wonder if they'd just let you park it somewhere and not charge for hookups.

Either the parking at the airport or an RV storage site close by.

Check for security at each and decide from there.

Your questions would be best answered by the specific facility where you plan to leave it after they see it and/or you tell them its size and for how long.

Your RV caries very specific responsibilities with it that are inconsistent with other automotive storage uses. Not everyone wants to be responsible for your things and their insurance may not cover it in the event of a loss due to fire, theft, vandalism, etc. which are often out of the facilities control.

The FAA has implemented many new post 911 airport regulations. I've recently been asked to move my RV IMMEDIATELY on three separate incidents in three different locations when picking up and dropping off at busy terminals. Security was on me like flies on, well, you know. My bet: Parking in large metro airports surely wouldn't be encouraged because of the potential bomb threat. Think back to the Tim McVeigh incident in Oklahoma City. There's lots of concealed space inside an RV.

I'm sure you can find a suitable place, you may have to spend some time looking for it. Think about the liability you are asking someone to assume.

The liability angle is not really different than that of a car with stuff in the trunk or hatchback of it, though the values involved may be greater. Generally I think parking garages etc. disclaim all liability for loss due to theft, vandalism, acts of God, etc. ("You park here at your own risk.") I would rather doubt that such would hold up in court if they were somehow negligent, and in some situations their insurance would most likely cover your loss--as in the case of fire, I'd think--and in most others the comprehensive or uninsured motorist insurance coverage you presumably have on your vehicle would cover it and the things in it.

You would like have better luck with off-airport parking.

Don't leave anything valuable including the battery (lock it in the trunk of your car)

Since the principal use of my motorhome is as a rolling motel room with tool storage between home and various small GA airports I leave it behind and fly away often.

I’ve found that most c/g’s have a storage lot where you can park your rig for peanuts.

Of course being able to stay in it until parked with FHU’s and again when you return is a huge bonus.

My base camp is a c/g with its own airstrip so my C stays there a LOT.

I did a lot of air travel in my working life and I can tell you airport parking varies all over the map. Don’t even think about going into the airport grounds without first calling ahead.

It depends a great deal on the location of the airport. There are privately owned parking lots near most large airports and that are under video surveillance. RV storage facilities are notoriously risky.
