At fault or not does not matter any longer in regards to rates due to the discount scam all these companies now use. Even when not at fault, or if your insurance provides "accident forgiveness", you will still lose a couple of "discounts". Losing those discounts will most likely increase your cost, not the insurance rate per se, substantially. The insurance companies pull discounts such as "safe driver" and "accident free" at the drop of a hat. Fault doesn't matter as you were in an accident or by definition are not a safe driver by being in one. It's a racket. Read the fine print.
