American Coach Dream.(Should have been called NIGHTMARE)

We have had enough. Bought 2016 American Coach Dream from Lazy Dayz in January. The first day the troubles started. Water leaking out the underside of coach, (pipes were not sealed together), the next day the shower wall fell off. Lazy Days did nothing, said it was between us and the factory. (We had not owned it for a day yet). Drove to factory, they fixed it. Left factory 2 weeks later. Since then the coach has been falling apart. Some of the problems. Water again leaking from the underside of coach, water leaking from the Aqua Hot, water pump sounds like it is taking off, trim has fallen off while driving, mud flap fell off and got dragged on highway, bed frame fell apart, floor tiles cracked, the air conditioning leaks water into the ceiling light and air vents (my guests have not been impressed), the drive train shakes the tag looses air pressure, the ignition switch fell apart (had to crawl under dash to start engine), along with all the little things you expect when you buy a new coach. What I am getting at here is, American Coach should not have let this or any other coach go out the door in such condition. The American Dream is their magazine advertising unit for many pictures. I would like to show all my pictures to anyone interested in buying from this company. I feel they should have to buy this back, without going into the legal system to get it done. What do you think?
  • Wow so buying a $500,000 motorhome does not mean better quality, from hearing of the problems from so many RVers about the new motorhomes in just the past few years seems like the 2008 and before RV's had less issues, Fleetwood before the 2009 BK was a good company but not so sure about the new Fleetwood company of today, even Winnebago is having lots of issues.

I have so few issues with my 2008 Bounder that I am afraid to ever trade it in for a newer model, heck it would be wise to just redo the inside and keep her..
  • This is our 3rd new class A rv. We are not new to the RVing life. About 30 years actually.

Sadly Lazy Days is right they have no obligation to you and do nott have to fix anything
Just for my information; We are often advised here to thoroughly check the unit before paying. That includes water system, fridge, HW heater and all other systems. DID YOU do that?

Why is Lazy Days off the hook on this one? They gladly took his $$$? They are the dealer, aren't that?

If I buy a new car I don't expect to take it back to the factory for service, thats why they have dealers. Same with my snowmobile and ATV. The factory ALWAYS says your dealer is your best route for service - the consumer works with the dealer, the dealer works with the factory.

If that's not the case why do we even need dealers to begin with?

    Just wondering...

New member, first time post is a smear. Curious to see where this goes.

  • Brand new and still under warranty? You better believe we would be talking to the dealership! The dealership is part of your support network. If they won't support a product they sell, that says a lot. I would be contacting the BBB as well and possibly Trailer Life's column on product satisfaction. If you got a loan for it, what does your lender advise or is this even a route? There are lemon laws for RVs. Google it and you will find a lot of helpful information. If you are not getting the satisfaction you are looking for by working with the manufacturer, then check into an attorney.
  • I agree that you received a lemon that the factory should take back and reimburse you for all of your expenses, but I also think that you will probably be attacked on this board for saying bad things about a coach manufacturer. You will hear from everyone that did not have problems, even tho every coach is different.
