Anyone towing Ford 150 with 43 ft

We are about to start full timing & just purchased a 42 ft pusher & looking at a Ford 150 to flat tow. We will have a Remco lube pump installed. Please share your thoughts and experiences pulling this size vehicle. I would appreciate any advice you can share. Thank you for your comments??.
  • From the Ford Owners Manual:

    1. Ignition switch to on. Do not start engine

    2. Place transmission in NEUTRAL, with foot on the brake pedal switch transfer case switch from 2H to 4L 5 time's in 7 seconds and on the dash readout will come up " neutral tow enabled"

    3. Now turn Ignition switch to next position off, but you cannot pull out key as you must leave truck in neutral while towing.
  • They are all set for towing. Tranny in neutral, and turn the 4x4 selector switch back and forth five times and the transfer case is in neutral and ready to roll. Ford makes it easy as the dash screen lets you know your good to go.

Been towing my 2013 for two years with my 43' American Coach Tradition. Don't even know it's back there unless I look at the camera.
  • woundn't need the lube pump as they are for front wheel drive transaxles. You might need their driveshaft disconnect depending on the transfercase (i.e. can it be put into neutral). As for towing (weight) No problem but you will need some type of supplemental brake system. My 43' can pull 10k and still load the coach up to 45k. Most I have loaded up was for our move and fulltiming during the s&b search was 45k (coach and toad).
