Anyone with a Monaco Class C? Input needed

After much research and consideration, it appears that a Class C is what will fit our families needs. We are a family of 4 and were considering a 25'-28', but the space would get small with two teens and a small dog.

Looking to possibly purchase a used Class C. Considering a 2005 Monaco Esquire Class C 31'. I have noticed that it appears to be more finely appointed compared to other class C of the same year (ex. Jayco, Itasca, Jamboree, Thor, etc).

Some of those appointments:

Aluminum roof
Large Class A style storage bays on both sides
Front and Rear fiberglass caps
Raised panel cabinetry with rafia/cane inserts
Florescent lighting
Separate faucet at sink for filtered water

Since they were not made for many years, would parts/service be an issue?

Is the aluminum roof a big upgrade compared to rubber?

Anyone have this brand and can comment on its quality?

Thanks!

Track down an OP named Holiday27. Has a Holiday Rambler/Monaco unit, a little older and a little smaller than you're looking at.

    Here's his Signature:

"2002 27PBS Holiday Rambler (Aluminum sided/roof) Love it!"
  • I don't think parts would be an issue since it is a Ford chassis. As far as house parts, most companies quit servicing parts after a couple of years since they keep changing. Even though Fleetwood is still around, I doubt I can get much for our 06 Tioga besides what dealers may have in old stock lying around. You will always be able to get appliances, plumbing, etc for it. Just some things like fabric would be tough, if not impossible.
  • Looking at one of their floor plans it is similar to my Itasca Cambria. I have the entertainment center instead of an overhead bed in the front, is that what you have in mind?
  • I don't know if this helps much, but I have a 29' 2012 Monaco Montclair which is considered a B+. Keep in mind Monaco is now on it's third owner. The one you are looking at was probably built before the Monaco banko. With this in mind, I have been very disappointed in the quality of my unit. Many components have failed, mostly after the 1 year warranty.
