balancing tires

Does the beads work alright in the front tires to balance? They are going to mount the front ones tomorrow, but have no way to balance besides the beads. And the beads come with the new valves. What to do??
  • I did the beads in my DP on all 6 tires, not all that much $$$. Never worried about balance from then on. After sitting a couple months I could feel them balance as we started a trip in the first few hundred feet. Very smooth ride!

  • All I have used on my coach for thirteen years is Equal powder bags. They have been the best thing I have ever used. Perfect wear on the tread and smooth ride. But you do have to get the proper filtered air valve stems.
  • Ceramic beads are Ceramic beads, doesn't matter if they are RV specific or not. We used to use 8 oz of Antifreeze. Does the same thing. Rand big trucks (Class 8) and used beads by the bucket full and they had no particular name brand.
  • They are putting fronts on tomorrow, will see what kind of beads they use. Iknow the ones they use come with new valve stems. Will order the bigger ones before they do the backs.
  • I have been using Dynabeads since 2005 and have not had any issues with them. You hit a pot hole, they re-balance. Mud, snow , the same they re-balance. I have never had a noise issue.
  • IF you use the RV specific beads from Dynabeads, you DO NOT have to change the valve stems or cores.
There are several manufacturers that make smaller beads or powder that requires special valve cores. Ask them if they are using the larger beads that are specifically made for the larger motor home tires that may have a tire pressure monitoring system.
If the right beads are installed, and right amount is used, there is no noise and they are permanent.
    Scroll down to RV's
  • Bead will need a special valve stem to keep the beads from plugging it, and beads will need to be replaced each time you put on new tires. IMO I feel the though the cost is higher up front that the Centermatic balance rings are far better. Not only do they balance the tire and rim, but the whole drum/rotor and hub assmy. and can be used over and over again as new tires are put on.
  • Beads will give you some noise at low speeds and they don't affect seal. Depends how that can bother you.
If you plan to keep the coach for long years, google Centramatic
