Bed Lift Supports

My motorhome has Master Lift bed support lifts that appear to not be working. They do not hold the bed up without support. Do these lift pistons have to be replaced now and then?

"wvaincourt".....Welcome to the forum. You could have one of two issues. Either your struts are worn out or there is more added bedding to the to bed than originally intended by the manufacturer. Many add new mattresses or pillow toppers that increase the weight beyond what the struts can support.

If you don't have any additional weight than new struts may be needed. Typically, you can look at the side of the struts and see some codes or markings. If you plug those numbers into a Google search, they'll probably give you replacement info. Then go to Amazon and order.
I had this problem when my wife added a mattress topper to the bed making it quite a bit heavier. Instead of ordering new lifts I moved the lower attach points closer to the upper giving a greater spring rate and now holding the bed up.

  • Yes; like anything they wear out. There should be a model number on them.
RV dealers carry them or they can be purchased online.
