I never had a problem when I put a Bilstein steering damper on my Class A.
That said if you want self centering and blow out protection then I would go with a Steer Safe this will do that.

From experience I can tell you that blowing a front tire at speed is no fun but with the Steer Safe I was able to easily control the RV and make a safe stop.
I tested it on a 18 wheeler and after seeing how well it worked in a blow out I put them on my RV.
