Bilstein steering damper, Pro/Con

I have a bilsteins on my used rv it came on the mo ho along with the shocks, is it better than lets say monroe,Koni etc. I have no idea , if I was to replace it ,price would probably be the deciding factor on that particular item . I under stand its funtion and do not think it is as critical as a good quality shock adsorber, but thats just my opinion .
