Cable hookup on Rv

Seems like a dumb question one that I will ask dealer at my orientation when we pick up RV this Thursday

Buying a 2015 Jayco Precept

For cable TV is it as simple as getting a coax cable and hooking it up to outlet at Full Hookup CG and plugging into Rv connection??
  • Make sure that you have sufficient length of cable to handle different campgrounds. I carry two cables and an extra connector if I need a longer cable. I have also used an extra connector in some places were you had to have a connector between cable and campground wire. It seemed to be more common out west.
  • Yes, it is that simple. Except, on most systems you must turn the antennae power booster to the off position. Turn it back on to get over the air television reception. The rv televisions also have to be reset to get cable or over the air signals.
  • Yes. Be sure to turn off the Antenna power button, which should switch TV connector to cable input. Depending to cable provider, some now have to have a cable receiver installed also, which is an entirely different question. Get your dealer to show this to you at orientation.
