Changing the fixtures on the shower

I'm back with another issue and need some help. The shower fixtures need to be changed and I don't see any way to get behind to undo the inlet lines and take the existing fixture off. I do see where the rack that holds shampoo and soap is not part of the molded shower enclosure and it looks like it could be removed which would give me access to the back of the shower. Can anyone help me here with how to get that out of the enclosure as I tried to push up on it and it doesn't move but looks like it should. I don't want to break it but need to change the water fixture.
This is a Fleetwood TIOGA Arrow, '92 model, 27'

Thanks for any help.

  • every one I have seen either has a access plate on the opposite wall or screws holding the on/off plate to the wall in the shower.

Ditto. Ours has a panel in the pantry that forms the other side of the shower wall.

FYI, did a lot of looking for Kitchen and Vanity faucets. Fooled around with the big box stores, then blundered into Phoenix brand on Amazon. The tricky one was Kitchen. Wanted one with spacing for the two handles, no center hole (common to residential faucets), and high rise. And there it was! Perfect fit and less expensive than big box.

These are washer-less quarter-turn valves, not the old style with cartridges and washers.

$14 on Amazon Prime. Bathroom vanity faucet about the same price, Kitchen about $10 more. And right to my door. Amazon continues to amaze me.
  • So you're saying that behind the faucet cover are screws that hold the whole assembly to the shower wall. It does look like I can get the cover off without taking anything else off so I will take a look today.
    Thanks,
  • If you look at the other side of the wall that the shower is on, what do you see? Mine has an access panel that is secured to the wall with 4 screws. If you do not have any access panel, you may have to cut into the wall to get access.

When you are done, make an access panel to cover the hole. Or, hang a picture there???

Edit: Just looked at photos that may be like your MH. It shows a refrig in back of the shower controls. Hope the builders were smart enough to give you access from the front. :h
  • It appears that I have to pull the fridge to replace the shower faucets so I'm going to do that and also troubleshoot the fridge cooling problems.
Thanks for all your help guys.
  • Hey guys,
A note to anyone getting an RV that has been sitting for a long period of time without the fridge running. The sediment in the Ammonia tank settles and blocks the flow. I've had the fridge on for 3 days now and just this morning it was cold. It's also quite picky about being level when parked so I'm going to get a better level that I can sit on the glass tray of the fridge when leveling the RV.
Now, about the shower controls....yes the shower backs up to the fridge but it is clear the the shampoo/soap holder that's recessed in the shower is not part of the molded shower itself and I'm going to try and get it out because if I can to that then I can reach around behind and get to the controls. If anyone has ever removed that holder let me know how you got it out.
Thanks again for all your help guys!!
