Provide your OWN Internet connection.......
CG cable hookup is via the CG service
Internet hook up......some (very few) CGs allow phone service connections which could provide Internet
But find those is like finding the white ball in large barrel of black balls with your eyes closed.
We FTd for 7 yrs.
We had Internet connection 96% of the time......Verizon Aircard which is very old school for Internet.
Better options available.......BUT not real cheap/not real expensive just a cost that has to be in your budget.
And you have it available for use majority of time (and we didn't camp near big cities or destination spots----backroads/small towns)
Provide your OWN Internet
And use the dang propane system----it's cheap/reliable/and already designed into the RV
The problem with mobile hotspots is they don't provide enough bandwidth per month. I use around 150GB a month, my Straight Talk phone gives me 10GB a month at 4G on Verizon's network for $55. I haven't found a reseller that provides data on Verizon's network for any cheaper than that. I could make that work on the road if I use it mostly for work, but I wouldn't have enough left over to do everything I like to do. Are you sure phone connections are rare, even in the city? Or was it only rare in your experience in the more remote areas that you usually camped at? Also, do you know why cable internet wasn't an option? I guess I'll figure this out myself when I find some places I might want to camp at and see what the local cable and phone companies have to say. I'm going to have to make this a priority since researching everything else will be a waste of time if what you guys are saying is true.
