Cleaning Top of M(Fiberglass)

Got on top of MH a few minutes ago to clean, I have a mess up there mildew and dirt, soap and brush won't take it off I have tried simple green I would need to get down on my knees to do this due to my handicap I can't do this. Does any one have a suggestion that won't hurt the top. Thanks Roy
  • I pay the dealer to do their roof wash and treat. Went up there a couple weeks ago to look before taking it in. Clean as could be. Still having it done. Helps keep the sides clean too.

But our is kept out in the open where the sun hits it. Not going to be any mold or mildue up there.
  • Just remember any thing you put on the roof is going to run down the sides and take wax etc. off.

    ROYBUCK,
Due to your limitations, the method I would suggest probably won't work for you. But, if you could possibly find some teenager, pry them away from their phone or, video game and, tell them to:

    1. Wash with a good sponge and either Bar Keepers Friend or, any cleanser will actually work. You won't do any harm to that surface. It' a lot tougher than most people think.

    2. Then, use a "buffer" and a RUBBING compound on the entire roof.
    3. Then, use the same buffer and a, POLISHING compound on the whole roof.

    4. Then, a wax coat with just about any auto wax will be fine.

Again, this method is hard and laborious. Not many would even think about doing it. I've done it more than once. The results are nothing short of outstanding. It will last for about two years, plus or minus, depending on how much weather it sees when you're not using it.

I'm not a big fan of floor coatings on roofs but, that's just me. Everybody's got to do what's preferred by them and makes them happy. Good luck.

  • I think that is the problem it has Mop & Glow now, never had this problem before now, put Mop-Glow on last summer. Roy
  • Mr. Clean Magic Eraser works pretty good (along with some Dawn or Simple Green). I have one "on a stick". You might want to give it a try. Give it a good coat of Mop and Glow after you get it clean.
  • Hire someone lightweight to go up there and scrub.... ;-) That's what I'm going to have to do, mainly because I HATE heights! If you can get up there, you might try a very weak mixture of clorox and water. Use in small patches and rinse thoroughly. frequently.
