Cluster of fuses have been rerouted......help !!!!

Hello. I was using a test light on fuses that are located outside below the driver's seat. The cluster of fuses on the left side of the box work fine according to the test light. The cluster of fuses on the right side (18 accesories in total) do not register with the test light at all. I tested this non registering cluster with the engine on and off. None of the fuse wires in the fuse box have been disturbed or changed. I pulled a few fuses and tested behind the fuse in the box and nothing. I then tried some of the accessories that are associated with these fuses and they all work fine. I spoke with my mechanic and he says that before I purchased the RV someone must have taken that cluster and rerouted it to another power source. This could be a big big problem as one of the accessories in this cluster works the back brake lights. Anyone have any suggestions...ideas...solutions to what could be a big problem. Thank you in advance.
  • I have a 1996 Monaco Dynasty. I went out yesterday and bought a new test light and it did work with the fuse cluster on the left of the fuse box. These are actually fuses...5, 10, 15, 20, and 30. I tried the fuses with the ignition on and off. He left sude whrre the fuses work with test light only show when engine is off. I called Freightliner and spoke to their chief mechanic who had looked at this fuse box as I was trying to get a cig lighter working so I could plug in my new TPMS and he told me today that he had noticed what I was explaining to him what was happening and the best he could come up with was that the cluster of accessories in the 18 fuses have been reported elsewhere and the best thing I could do is follow one of the wires to see where it goes to be powered. I am not a troll. This is serious. I wss looking for advice and suggestions but I see from your responses that you have not encountered this before.

true but he clearly says some of the things the fuses are marked for still work and he checked with key on and off The Op is pretty Green based on his other posts so like I said in first post have a person of knowledge check things out before jumping to wrong conclusions
  • Part of fusing is turned on with ignition switch. Some parts work through the ignition relay.
  • Do the things the fuses purportedly control cease to work when you pull the respective fuses? If so, then obviously they haven't been rerouted or anything and there's something not quite right in your testing procedure. Maybe the source and load sides of the fuses are the opposite from what you were expecting or your test light ground lead came loose or something like that.
  • Make - Model - Year (kinda hard to help without that)

It's also possible a relay is/was off when you tested, like the salesmans switch. As designed, It would cut power to the entire cluster (and more).
  • Since you're profile is incomplete, no one has any idea of what type of motor home you have to try and help you.
