Dash Max AC

Question

I have a 2014 motorhome on a Freightliner chassis. When travelling the other day to Key West, FL (I apologize to all who are experiencing effects of this winter) I switched the dash air conditioner from the AC setting to the max AC setting. There was no difference in the fan sound and no noticeable difference in the cooling. Has anyone else had the same experience or am I having a problem with my dash air conditioner. I'm sure that on my '08 coach that the fan speed increased when set to max AC. The '08 also had a separate button to engage the air conditioner. My '14 only has a vent, AC setting, and a max ac setting.
Do I have a problem and what could it be?

It goes from using outside air to using recirculated (pre-cooled) air which makes it more efficient.  There is a noticeable change in airflow tone on most vehicles and a slight increase in airflow due to the easier flow path.
