dish tailgater question

From past sucess of "tailgater" oweners, I,ve decided to go with it. I already have "DISH" and the 211 receiver. Seems a lot simpler and faster. My only consern is: What is the best, easyest, fastest way to set up the :TAILGATER? I know some people use the ladder mount, some have the special made tripod. What is your preferred way?
  • After spending several days in Gloucester, MA and finding my worst fears realized when there was NO digital reception from Boston or anywhere else, I am probably picking up a Tailgater even though I do fairly well most places without cable. Quick question about 'pay as you go' as the DISH website was less specific. I understand it is a monthly fee with no strings attached. Is it billed as an actual calendar month to month or otherwise? For the most part I have seen nothing but great reviews for reception and a few negatives about RV customer service. Thanks.

You pre-pay for 30 days of service. If you start on the 12th you pay till the 11th of the next month.

The Tailgater may be OK on the MA coast, but be aware that there are many areas in the Northeast where the Dish western arc birds are difficult to "see" because of their low angle. The Tailgater is not capable of picking up the eastern arc birds that are at a much higher angle. For example, at my Upstate NY cottage, the western arc birds are at about 22°, while the eastern arc birds are at about 40°.
