dish tailgater question

From past sucess of "tailgater" oweners, I,ve decided to go with it. I already have "DISH" and the 211 receiver. Seems a lot simpler and faster. My only consern is: What is the best, easyest, fastest way to set up the :TAILGATER? I know some people use the ladder mount, some have the special made tripod. What is your preferred way?

I thought about getting one of those. Worries me that they would be very easy to just pick up and walk away with. Even if you cable them a small pair of bolt cutters and its gone. I'll probably end up getting one someday anyway. There are still a lot cheaper than a roof mount and you can put them in a clear location out from under the trees... Just my 2 cents... :)
If you have the ladder mount adaptor, it would be way up by the top your roof. I really doubt anyone would attempt to steal it, as they would be attracting lots of attention to themselves.

  • I have the VuCube 2000, which is just a fancier version of the Tailgater. I also have the ladder mount. When the ladder mount position offers me a clear shot at the satellites, I just connect the cable and leave it right there. When soemething is blocking the view of the satellite, I take the cube down and position it for a clear shot.

And yes, it stays on the ladder mount (padlocked) for storage and travel.
