does converter charge truck batteries

I have a supernova 6372. Does my converter charge my truck batteries when I am plugged in? My coach batteries stay charged but my truck batteries go dead and I have to recharge with a charger.
Any insight?
  • Mine charges both the house batteries and the chassis battery. (2006 Tioga 26Q)
  • Some MFGs of RVs do have a unit that does charge the Chassis battery. As well as the RV batteries when plugged in.

My Fleetwood Tioga came equipped with a BIRD a Bi-Directional Isolator Relay Delay.

Coupled with my smart Converter/Charger it does a great job of keeping all batteries charged and in top shape without boiling them.

These can be added to your existing system with out having to have 2 different systems like adding a Trik l Start.
  • JAYCO added that feature to the SENECAS, at least my 08 has it so the technology is available.
  • None of the Gulf Stream Super C's that I have seen charge the batteries.
Consider installing a Trik L Start that is already linked in this thread. I installed one 3 years ago and could not be happier.

Most converters do NOT charge the chassis battery. We added a Trik-L-Start to our rig so it keeps the chassis battery charged while plugged in.

After running my chassis battery down several times, and ruining it, I also installed a Trik-L-Start. No problems in the 4 years since.

  • I have never had one that charged the truck batteries, but I don't know everything.
