Electric awning......not working?

So, picked up the 2016 Ford Chateau 22E today and super impressed with how it drove, and all features seem fine with exception of the electric awning which I didn't even know it had. Pressing the button and nothing happens. Lightly tapped on the railing outside in case they were slightly jamming but nothing. Anyone have a suggestion since I have zero experience with these electric types? Was going to pull the cover off the motor section up top tomorrow for a quick look around, but any advise is appreciated!!
  • the awning will not move if the key is on motor running.. the switch went bad in mine finding one is a *****.
  • My RV needs to be off and not running to operate the awning.

12v power needs to go the switch. If you hear a clicking sound at the switch then its getting power. You could check the wires with a volt meter.
    The fuse needs to checked.
Switches are a recurring issue for most.
  • To check if it is something in the wiring, switch, fuse or whatever, electric awnings I've worked with have a jumper connection where you can hook up straight 12V directly to it.

Mine has 2 little metal loops on the motor end that protrude out of the roller tube at the top.

If you apply 12V and ground there and the awning functions, you'll know you have to trace the circuit. But if nothing happens, then the motor is suspect.

    Use a BAH...j/k.

I currently have a manual but have been thinking of switching to electric but from what I've read, I should keep the manual.
