Carnegie Mellon University? - dodge_guyExplorer III have the opposite problem. I have the 3 steps and the bottom step is almost always flush with the ground. Once it was just about sitting on the ground. Sometimes they don't even come out if I'm parked next to a curb. But to change them out to a 2 step version is around $600. And from the measurements they give I may be short a step as some of you are saying.
- Seattle_SteveExplorerWe have found this to be perfect. We have never been anywhere that was too out of level to require more.
- LumptyExplorerI carry around one of these, a basic Rubbermaid Step Stool:
IIRC, bought it at a Walmart for about $12. A year or so prior, in a pinch because it was a really big leap, where we were staying, I went to the local closest Home Depot for a couple $2 each CMU’s, that went into the dumpster at the end of that week’s stay. It was cheaper than wrecked knees. - IAMICHABODExplorer II

I've used one of these Harbor Freight folding step platform thingies when needed. It would be more useful as an extra entry step if I cut the legs down some; the standard height is pretty tall, and only really ideal when the campsite is sloped or drops off something crazy.
I did one of these, as in This Thread a few years back, but gave it away to daughters MIL for their trailer, worked quite well for them. - oldaveExplorerI made mine out of 1x4s sort of like you might see in a shower .
Super simple nearly every thing the same length except the 2 ends .
A drill and screws is about all I needed .
An old wooden coke box is similar to mine except I made the top boards
spaced apart 1/2" . Lowes has white wood boards that have rounded
corners so they don't have sharp edges , that's what I used .
Mine is about 18" x 24" x 4" tall , you can make it any size or height
I made one for home that is 4 ft x 8 ft because I park on dirt
Trailers usually need more height but this is just right for our moho .
If I make another one I'll probably make it a little bigger maybe 24" x 30"
We find it is one of the handiest things we have in the RV .
It isn't heavy and will go in a storage bay or in the PU .
Stored up side down it becomes an organizer . When breaking camp I just
turn it up side down , fill it with miscellaneous and slide it in a bay . - DrewEExplorer III've used one of these Harbor Freight folding step platform thingies when needed. - Blaster_ManExplorerUse the aforementioned step stool or, if possible, lower the coach.
