I would not consider such a warranty. First, the odds are not in your favor. These extended warranty companies know what fails and when, as well as how much it costs to repair. Deducting the 30% plus profit margin for the seller out of the costs plus another 30% profit margin for the warranty company itself, that tells you they expect to pay out on average only $1800 on your $4500 investment.
In addition, many of those extended warranty companies have a business model that is so full of exclusions and loopholes, that getting them to pay is difficult. Read the actual policy, not the sales brochure.
