Fair Price Off Of MSRP

I would think you have better leverage when purchasing an RV off their lot. And to me "fair" is only how you want to feel after you purchase.

I've heard as much as 20-30% off MSRP is typical, which is in line with what you can usually get on other high priced items (cars, etc) with a little shopping around.

Yes this is what I am also seeing. For the View, I've heard Lichtsinn Motors will hit that range if you order from them. At a minimum, having a quote from them should get you leverage with the local dealer.

Also mhsrv.com advertises a minimum 25% off! up to even 35-40 off on some models. And RV direct seems to go 35% off routinely.

remember to add all fee,s into your offer ,tax,,title prep and any other rediculas fee they come up with. take 30% off and digger it down some more.

That is a nice MH. I can't believe the 24V has twin beds and is only 25'8" in length.

Lewis RV in Ohio and Lichtsinn in Iowa will give you a quote on-line and they seem to have the best prices around. We got ours from Lichtsinn for a good price and are very pleased with our Via. We had a few small warranty issues when we got back to Colorado, and the local Winnebago dealer fixed them without any problems.

If you order from them, the dealer has their money tied up for a smaller amount of time (if at all) thus costing them less on their line of credit.

I got quotes from Lichtsinn, Lewis and a local dealer for a factory order on my 24J. Lewis was cheapest (they beat Lichtsinn by a lot) and the local dealer the most expensive. I told my local dealer the quote I got from Lewis and they came within $600 so I stayed local.

I ended up at 26% off MSRP.

I was looking at the View for a while. Dakzuki describes precisely the process I was planning to use, and that's also exactly the outcome I was expecting: Local dealer gets close enough to the distant dealer's price, and you get around 25% off MSRP.

Decide what options you want and then contact dealers asking for their best out the door price. It doesn't matter what % you get off published price. If you are willing to travel, expand the search area.

IN many cases MSRP on an RV is a very subjective matter. OFTEN it is considered MSRP regardless of what price the dealer puts on it. Much better to figure out what a fair price is and compare prices you're able to negotiate to that price. About the only way you'll actually feel good about it. For what it's worth around 30% discount over the original price tag is pretty good but STILL you may find another dealer who only offers 20% off of the same unit and it's cheaper. I wouldn't get too hung up on those percentages.
