flooring options for gas motorhome

I have a Winnebago 35 G gas new motorhome. I am not fond of the vinyl tile. Mine does not wear well or clean well. I have two slides in front. Large one is floor level and the one with lounge is oner the top. rollers on slides. I did not want carpet. I know that porcelain is generally too heavy. That would be my preference. I wonder if laminate tiles or planks have been used successfully. Any ideas?
  • We just had some friends visiting us that had planks put in their rig.....gas Bounder. Looks REALLY nice. They did still have carpet around the driving area and under the couch and in the bedroom. :)
  • Do you know the kind of planks?

  • I removed carpet and installed peal and stick vinyl tiles.
  • We used "Drop and Done", a vinyl product. In stick houses that's just what they do. In motohomes, the installer recommended that we glue it down. It's been in for several years and still looks good. There are some scratches from the slide but it's not noticeable unless you look for it. We used one of the blue/grey shades, like a barn board. That particular colour no longer available.

  • ceramic/porcelain tile weighs 5 pounds per square foot
  • I know Ernie. That's why I think it is out of the question. I wondered abut laminate that is now made to look like tiles and of course wood for many years. It sure seems durable and nice looking. I have vinyl and it is new but we though there may be other options that we would like. We are not fond of carpet so went with vinyl.
  • We had the floor redone in our
Hurricane 30Q last spring. Pulled up the vinyl and put in what looks just like old bar wood flooring. It's actually solid PVC with like a 20 year warranty. They put it in diagonally and it turned out great.
