Florida Everglades and Big Cypress National Forest

It's gravel and often under water. We took our 4 wheel and did pretty well. I wouldn't take our motorcycles. I would ask a ranger if you can make it in a car. No way would I bring a mntorhome on it.

The last time we were in the area staying at Midway, the loop was closed to traffic beyond the paved sections at each end. As Roadpilot said, it's often underwater, so checking ahead would be a very good suggestion. If it's open, from what I recall there weren't any overhanging trees, but the unpaved section is very narrow, and could present a problem with a motorhome if there was traffic coming the other way.

Get too far down that road and you aren't turning around; might have to back out.

We’ve done it many times. But only in a car or pickup truck. It is just one lane 2 ruts and sometimes covered with water. Much bush and limbs close to road. Extremely interesting wildlife and scenery. The last few times we were down that way it was always closed You can inquire at the visitor center son hwy 41.

As it turned out, we chanced it and down that road we went and eventually running out of blacktop. It was still pretty smooth going on that dusty road and we mostly went down the center and finding a place to pull over for cars coming, unless they hadn't already done so, with seeing me coming and probably thought we were crazy.
Anyway, not sorry that we made the detour and it was interesting to our northern visitors. Water pretty close to the road, but none in it, at this time of the year, in the dry season. However it was still a one time thing in the coach and am glad for the heads up, especially about water being in there at times. Having said that, if there's a next, it'll most likely be in the Jeep.
