Ford EFI V10- any issues?

Just st bought my first Class A. It's a new coach with the Ford V10. Kinda doggy going uphill, but I'm retired so not in a big hurry. It's not a Deisel so it's going to rev out. That motor has been around a while, so I assume major bugs have been worked out. I have that new 6 speed transmission that is suppose to be Fords answer to the Allison tranny.

Just wanted some feedback on people that have had this motor for a while.

    Had an 09 Ford F250 with the V10 for 5 years and only maintenance was 2 oil changes a year. Now Have had my gas V10 coach for 3 years and only maint has been 1 oil change per year due to low mileage use. Best gas engine out there IMHO

    We've had no problems with ours in the NC mountains since we got it the end of May. Plenty of power.

    Our 99 is still going strong. Live out West and we do have mountains, so downshift up and down the hills and you will be fine.

    Early production, like 98,99,2000 have issues with spark-plugs. They really didn't have enough treads in the engine.
    That's about it.

    You didn't mention what model year you bought, there are minor differences between model years.

    Happy with mine. It has plenty of power for me - I don't need to go up grades at 65. My biggest issue is the 5,000' limit on towing, but I knew that going into it. Mine has around 22,000 miles on it and doesn't use any oil.

    if its a 6 speed has to be 16

    2006 production with 56,000 miles. Only issue so far was one of the magnets came off from the throttle servo motor 3 miles from home. JB Weld back into place. Easy fix.

    Just got back from our summer vacation which took us thru West Virginia on I64. Lots of hills with no problems up or down.

    Good engine, the new ones have been getting great reviews.

    As to the being doggy part, that engine likes to REV. Don't be afraid to put your foot to the floor and let it work - thats what it's designed to do.

    I've had 2 ford v-10s now. A 2012 and a 14. Same motor. Now in a 22000 lb. bago sightseer. . I didn't think it had great power until I towed a dual axle enclosed trailer with 2 big Harley's and stuff to sturgis. It seemed to run better with the load. I'm pleased. Gas mileage stayed consistent at 8-81/2 mpg. I let the cruise and computer do the work and keep my foot off the pedal.

    My V10 has absolutely trouble free 64 000 miles on the clock. Only work done to it is oil and filter changes. My son is a master mechanic at the largest Ford dealer in the state, and he says that he recommends to do a timing chain change to it at about 100 000 miles.
