Ford gas mileage

I drive a 2000 Damon Intruder, 34 footer,V10, dragging a Ford Ranger, averge around 7 MPG, and drive between 55 & 60 MPH

Imperial gallons (5 quarts)? You are still on the imperial system in Quebec? You didn't change to the metric system with the rest of Canada? I thought the US was the only one still in the non-metric stone ages.

No, we use the metric system and the fuel pumps deliver in liter. 1 canadian gallon was used in the old days, but some people still refer to it to calculate MPG, but they calculate 1 imperial gallons, same as the United Kingdom gallons. 1 canadian gallons equal 4.54 liter and one US gallon equal 3.78 liter. So if people are translating liter to MPG using the old imperial system, they end up with more MPG than using the US gallon.

60 to 65 mph, relatively flat, towing the CRV, 7 mpg.

Fuel mileage depends largely on power to weight ratio of any coach, and of course one's driving habits.

With the size and weight of your coach, your fuel mileage of 6.3mpg should be fairly average unless most of your travel is on flat terrain with no headwinds, then it's a bit low.

Our 37'8" 2000 coach powered by the v10 gets between 6.5 & 7mpg driving speeds of 60mph. Living out west, we travel over quite a few mountain grades.

On one occasion this summer traveling on flat terrain and probably with a strong tail wind we actually got a whopping 10.019 mpg. Extremely rare and most likely never happen again, but I'll take it anytime I can....:B

Very true, that what I get when I go to my local desert. It's all back roads and up/down grades.

My 2001 F53 with 37 ft Southwind gets about 6.5 - 7, running open highways at around 62 mpg, towing 4200 lb Jeep Liberty. More or less depending on terrain, head/tailwinds, traffic, speed. It is very sensitive to wind resistance. So speed is the biggest variable. At 55, it consistently gets 7+. At 70, 6 or so. Same variances for headwinds.

2006 Class'A', 34' F53, Ford V10, 362 HP w/5 Speed Tranny. Average 6.3 mpg after 59000 miles pulling Toad.

Here are my actual numbers from a recent trip in October of this year to Virginia and back from my home state of Michigan. Included flat and mountainous travel especially in West Virginia.

Miles traveled: 1661.6 miles
Gasoline used: 222.5 gallon
Math: 1661.6/222.5 = 7.47 mpg.

Note: I drive 62 mph max. and my SUV only weighs about 3600#

6 to 8 MPG is what any gas motorhome will get, drive slow on flat roads with no wind you can see 8 MPG, but drive in the mountains and you will see 6 MPG or less.

I got 6.6 in my 34 foot Winnebago towing a Toyota Tacoma on a 20 foot flat bed trailer. Not towing i can get into the 7.5 range best case. NEVER hit 8. I've had it over 5 years.
