Gas Chassis battery
Our chassis battery is dead....what battery do you all think is best? I am looking at either Les Schwab or Interstate from Costco.

- I have had decent service from the Walmart EVERSTART batteries for my chassis. I use Deka(East Penn) AGM batteries for my house. The reason why I chose the Walmart battery is because Walmart has stores everywhere and in an instant any store can look up when the battery was purchased and issue a prorated credit on the purchase of a new battery. I can't say that the Everstart battery is any better than any other battery, but there are certainly more Walmart stores around the country to get a replacement if needed.
- In general, buy a name brand battery from a national distributor with the highest CCA (cold cranking amp) rating with the longest 100% free replacement warranty you can afford. Make sure it will fit in the space you have and the terminals are in the correct location.
Most batteries are made to order by only a few manufacturers and then rebranded so you can't be sure who manufactured the battery you decide to buy.
In general, (not always, sometimes you just get lucky) you get what you pay for. Well, . . . . . do you feel lucky?

- Bob, this past Fall, l had to replace all 3 of my batteries! Les Schwab had to come out and make a service call to get me going to get to there shop! I had the chassis battery replaced and both of my coach batteries replaced. One of my coach batteries was actually boiling and very hot. I was sick for awhile and neglected my coach. All 3 batteries were Les Schwab that we’re replaced and all 3 were 8 years old. I’ve in the past I’ve used all the batteries you mentioned and have had good luck with all of them!
- I use interstate and get the highest amp battery that will fit the space. Works for me on all my battery purchases.
LEN - Les Schwab batteries are spendy and probably the same rebranded battery you can buy from Costco at lower price. I use Costco batteries on chassis and house.
