Our 32' Class C with 2 slides gets anywhere between 6.5 - 9 mpg on the highway. I drive within a mile or 2 of the speed limit when I can. The best I've ever gotten was 9 mpg, doing 66 mph. Around here, most of the roads we travel are 70 mph. It's frustrating when I'm stuck in a long line of traffic on a two lane highway to find that some RVer going 10 - 15 mph under the speed limit was the cause. I won't be that person.
Weight and really doesn't seem to make a difference. It doesn't matter if I'm the only one driving with an empty motorhome or it's all 4 of us loaded down for a long trip; we get the same mileage. What makes the biggest difference is speed, wind and traffic flow.
It seems any wind over 5 mph has a negative effect on mileage (unless it is a tail wind). The more I have to stop and start or slow down and start, the worse the gas mileage. The slower I drive, generally the better the gas mileage.
