DrewE, I thought about that, but I've never drilled into corian, and I'm concerned about cracking it. What kind of drill bit would I use to drill into corian?? Thanks
Brian
A standard drill bit. I have drilled, screwed, and glued Corian.
I made the following out of some scrap Corian I had to replace the counter top in my truck camper bathroom. The side splash pieces are glued and screwed.
Indeed. For mechanical operations, you can generally use woodworking tools and techniques without significant change. Cracking shouldn't be a problem if you exercise a tiny bit of reasonable prudence (i.e. not putting many screws right next to each other in a line); Corian is somewhat malleable and not particularly brittle, so not especially prone to cracking
Mind you, I don't have any real experience in working with Corian specifically. I have occasionally done some work with other plastics and plastic-based materials, though, and read a wee bit here and there about Corian. Still, the disclaimer applies that this is secondhand knowledge.
