How level is level enough?

Assuming the wheels are about 7 feet apart, left to right, a one degree angle would be corrected by a board 84*tan(1) = 1.5 inches. You would be out 3 degrees if it takes 4.5 inches of lift under the wheels on one side. I have a good feeling for where that places the bubble on my level beside my cup holder - it puts the bubble right out of the circle in the middle. I rarely see this much off level in a campsite.

Our 10 year old fridge died last month. It has always been level except when on the road. It failed because of a bad weld at the boiler. Ammonia all over the place. Replaced the cooling unit. Fridge now works better than it has in the last 10 years.
Place where I got new cooling unit had lots of bad cooling units. Most had failed where boiler is welded to gas and electric burners.
During the repair I had a ARPrv controller installed. Should help to extend life of my new cooling unit and maybe avoid a fire.

Our 10 year old fridge died. We had used it for years in our driveway at a slight angle. Our mobile RV service guy said that the more level the better when in operation. Current RV fridges ,supposedly, do not have as robust cooling units as they used to. The coolant and anti-rust ingredients are also a factor. I imagine that occasional use, off level, while parked, won't seriously shorten cooling unit life.

One degree side to side would mean the wheels are about 1.4" off level.

These supposedly show the inches you are out of level but that depends on your RV. I find that if it shows I am off by 1, it takes 1 2 x 10 to level the RV.

That is what I have in my "B" and it works great although I have a 12 volt compressor drive refer so it is more forgiving. Our beds are parallel to the frame so if the front is a bit high it's OK with us. Never like to sleep with feet higher than head.
Just a funny----------place marble in center of fridge top and if it rolls off in less than a second you need to re-level. Joking. :)

I don't drink Guinness, but that's how I feel about leveling. I guess I "camp" at what I'm starting to think are out of the ordinary type campgrounds where the sites are all fairly level. I"m always able to go back or forward, or a little to one side or the other to get "level enough".
After reading all these posts I'm thinking about maybe bringing some blocks along with me "just in case".
And no, I don't boondock. :B

I leveled the freezer part of the frig(set-up)then added the outside levels so they were level at that level. I check them a couple times a year with the frig level.
