how to look Sparkling Clean

Roof on my RV is built so I can was it. When I have work on outer edges I use a 10' stepladder to access those areas.
For the cab-over area I use the same 10' stepladder and a 7' stepladder. Clamp a 12" X 12' plank between between them. This allows access to the front cap and small part of roof. I have seen where others get a rolling scaffold from Harbor Freight that give them access to high areas.
When I do not have access to the stepladders I use a brush on a 8' pole to wash the cab-over. Waxing the cab-over will have to wait until I get back home.

Welcome Peter: The roof of our RV is sturdy enough that I walk on it regularly to check for damage, wear, and for cleaning. To wash and especially wax the over cab area, I just lay prone on the roof, and reach over. Best wishes, Bob

The hardest part of mine is under the cabover. Can't be reached with a ladder.

Depends on how agile you are and how your motorhome is designed.

On our Chevy based class C I would open the hood climb up and stand on the area over the grill/radiator. Had to be careful where I put my size 14 clod hoppers as some things don't like to be stepped on. It gave me access to the total front and I could also go on the roof and reach down from above for some of it.

That doesn't work as well on our current Ford based motorhome. The hood does not open as far. Thinking of getting one of those folding step things you can put over the front tire so I can stand on it to wash the windshield and see how much of the front I can clean that way and I can reach quite a bit of that front area from the roof.

But my bigger issue is.....when traveling I see these diesel pusher motorhomes that always look like they just drove off of the showroom floor. After 5 days on the road ours often looks like we are survivalists trying to camouflage with dirt and bugs. Sure would like to know how to keep it cleaner. Not always easy to find a large car wash and cleaning bugs off the front is a real workout.

I think some of the big immaculate pushers are getting commercial cleaning at the RV parks. Many have references for services that come out to the site.

Mine, I don't try for immaculate on the road. But then I'm not on the road for months at a time. I have extension pole and can sort of get the bugs off the front overhang. Anything that looks like it may eat into the paint I try to remove.

At home I'm a big fan of Quick Detailer products. A hose off, a ladder and a soft towel.

I understand that some folks use a truck wash. I hear it costs $25.00.

The roof on ours is ok to walk on but I lean AN EXTENSON ladder up against the top edge and use a brush on a 5 foot pipe and do a half from each side,seems safer than working from the top for an old man.

I have one of those telescoping, water squirting, RV brush washing things that has a soap and rinse feature. I wear shorts as cold water runs back down the tube and into my armpit and down my body. I don't do it often and my 2004 rig looks it. Yikes, I need to do it cuz we're the volunteer bathroom and miscellaneous transporter for 4th of July picnic in the park,support equipment.
