Here you go Grindstone,
Thanks y'all for the welcome, but it may be short lived!!!
I also joined a busconversion website and got my bubble busted when noting my application to haul a 15000lb triple axle trailer with electric over hydraulic brakes on all 3.
Their advice is that due to the nature of frame construction of this bus it wasn't advisable to utilize her for this application and she was set up as a pusher not a tugger with a rear subframe holding the engine bay.
I had no idea at the time I was bidding on the bus as I assumed that she wouldn't even feel the load. Apparently she carries a very high first gear and this would be hard on the driveline. We're going to check the final drive ratio stamping as there are lower gearsets that may be available unless I have the lowest and if there is a heavy duty clutch/preesure plate available. And for the possibility of reinforcijg to handle the load if the powertrain issues can be wotked out.
If it doesn;t work out I'll have to sell her as I really wouldn't consider myself an avid RV'r. I can't justify ownership by just using it for our 2-3 annial motorcycle camping trips. We always pitch tents and Mom never comes but she might in the bus, I also considered leasing it out on occasion but think it's a really dumb idea of risk to owner.
I've only spent very little time aboard just goin through random stuff of the previous owner.
I'm trying to stay optimistic and am crossing my fingers, LOL!!!
See ya,
Kelly
