HWH levelers

Last week I wrote about having a problem with the HWH levelers that would not retract...we have been parked at a different location for a week...the levelers went down when we got here, but tonight I attempted to raise the levelers...they would not retract...bled the pressure off the hydraulic lines and they retracted...will take it to the shop when I get home...thanks for all the suggestions on how to take care of the problem..guess the valves in the manifold are shot...the t-handle relief did not work again...oh the life of an RVer....

X2 had exactly the same problem. New shuttle valve fixed it. Doug is a very experienced RV tech. NEVER saw bad advice from him on this board.
  • try ordering the part by email from hwh. use email address
    service@hwh.com
the part number for the shuttle valve is RAP7964
if you download a service manual for your system, there is a section that walks you thru the diagnostics for this problem.
  • Same thing happened to me. It turned out to be a bad ground. Make sure you have a good ground to the frame and the nut at the post where all ground wires connect is tight.
  • I called HWH..and you know what the answer was...the Operator didn't even try to put me thru to a tech...she said they were a couple of weeks behind in answering the questions submitted over the phone...Great service HuH?

and thanks to Doug...will see if I can find one....
  • I'm assuming the parking brake was on and the transmission was in natural. At this point, I'd suggest checking the relay. My relay was in the electrical bay and would occasionally stick before being replaced.

Finally, check the ground wire to the chassis from the pump. Just take it off, clean it up and reattached it.
