- G_LewisExplorerI put a $7,000 downpayment on a '13 Palazzo 33.1 on a Friday phone call to CW, with the balance when the new unit arrived. They asked that I give them a cashiers check. I agreed but said it would be Monday before I could make the trip (100 miles round trip). Over the weekend I read many posts, here and other web sites. I decided not to buy a Thor product....taking the coach to northern Indiana for a slide repair (3,000 miles round trip) was not in the the cards.
I have had two Fleetwoods and one Winnebago over the last 30 years with few problems. I have never had a slide. Our present Bounder serves us well with plenty of room. I am looking at a 2014 Tifin Breeze 32BR. A friend has a '13 and brags on it. Anyway, I won't be getting a Thor. - 93mastercraftExplorer II

I sort of suspect that even if they plated the RV in Gold, the OP will not be happy. I really cannot blame him. What a let down to spend that kind of money and end up with a problem RV. He will never feel confident with the RV again.
BINGO! Me and DW have pretty much given up. However, I do want to let every one know that camping world seems to be working with us. There is nothing set in stone yet. There might be some options on the table. I just wanted to go on the record with saying that. Will keep Y'all posted as to the next chapter in this fiasco. - 2bzy2cExplorer III sort of suspect that even if they plated the RV in Gold, the OP will not be happy. I really cannot blame him. Just pass it on to another unsuspecting victim? It's a question only, and one that I have debated over the years participating in this forum.
Ya know... It is kinda funny. I was thinking the same exact thing. Cause someone will get this unit if I don't keep it. Right now as it stands I doubt I will keep it, one way or the other. It's going to be a factory refurbished, dealer demo unit, one time owner who decided he simply didn't want it or a repo. Take your pick. - qtla9111Nomad

It had to stay longer because I did want them to use Sikkens paint. And I did that because that's what Thor uses. I didn't want two different brands of paint on the coach that could fade at different times. But I am still POed because I really don't want a brand new 2014 Motorhome that has already been painted in spots anyway. I don't care what anyone says, anytime something has to be painted, it will never be right. Especially in different spots. I will leave it at that.

It really doesn't matter what kind of paint they use to fix it as long as it is applied correctly. But then again, you may have more experience in this line of work than I do. Doubt it though. I do have to admit Sikkens is a pretty decent paint but we no longer use it in my shop,, We just had too many paint related problems.Bird Freak wrote:
Martin Senior is a very good product and they have been around for many many years.
It might be. However, that is not the paint Thor Motor Coach Uses. Sikkens is the paint they use. IMHO Sikkens is a much better paint. - Luna_CExplorerI for one can tell you yes it has cost them a sale. We were ready for a change, (before the FED lets interest rates go back up) and seriously considering the Palazzo 35.1 but now we have backed off. Going to take a look at Forest River and hope they do a little better. Wouldn't be hard to do "a little better" would it.

- bullydogs1ExplorerI was wondering how it was going with you...Did you call Thor and tell them about the slide hitting the bed...hopefully the bed can be adjusted....Was it painted?....I have a friend eagerly waiting for his Thor Tuscany (the pass side is a full wall slide) with a new floor plan and I told him beware of the schwintek slides...I really hope this gets solved...if it does have one of those slides, he might not take the coach...Thor and CW should be breaking their humps to get you back straight again...I would honestly love to know if this thread cost them a sale...because it's time for them to rethink customer service ahead of the profit...the company that does that..has a waiting list. (ie Tiffin or Entegra)...I'm not saying that they have less mistakes...but they know what to do when those mistakes happen....and that makes all the difference....
