Do you intend to stay in one location all the time, or travel about the area?
In other words are you willing to spend some time in a hot area, for the warm winters, then relocate in the summer? Then Arizona can be for you, but they do get such a thing as feet of snow in places like Flagstaff, where the 7,500' altitude means very cold winter days. Near I 10, the weather is nice from October to March, when it will get above 90F all nights in the summer.
You might also consider San Diego, while expensive to live in the town, the eastern portions are not as bad, and are a bit warmer than the coastline. El Cajon, Lakeside, and that area is fairly warm.
If you plan on full timing in a RV, then consider a move to Nevada. THey do not have state income tax. Same as Washington state. Most other states do have income tax, and that can mean about 10% of your income is lost to the tax man.
Have a fun time figuring it all out. Make sure that you check with
Zillow.com for the local home prices before putting your home up for sale, or buying a new place. You don't want to let your place go to cheap, or spend more than the average amount on the new place.
