Installing new carpet
I'm replacing the carpet in my 1996 Damon Intruder, can you beleive the original carpet was put on the floor first and then everything was put in after. The wall the slide the cabinet ect. Doesnt that seem weird?

- Actually sounds pretty typical of how RVs are built ... typically flooring is one of the first items installed before any other part of the RV is built. Linoleum goes down on the deck first, followed by carpeting (I wouldn't be surprised if there is linoleum under your carpeting when you remove the carpeting).
- Very normal procedure. It's not like a house where they bring in a carpet installer and cut around all of the walls. It also insulates the floors from the drivetrain in both heat and noise.
The good part, take a razor knife and cut it out along all the cabinets and you'll have an exact template.
Oh yeah.....wait until you see all of the staples they use. It will take you hours to pull them all. - There's nothing to be sound weird in this. I think this is the way you do all other floorings too. When we had our grannyflatsolutions granny flats built, the team did flooring first. As we have carpet flooring in our living room.
- Yup that's how they do it in an RV. Lay down the floor first and then everything goes on top of it. It is real easy to build it that way.
