Is a visit to Quartzsite worth our time

Fun times there. LOTS of stuff, junk, and misc. Food of plenty of variety. Worth seeing.... It's kind of the chief for flea markets.

That's one opinion... there are well over 300,000> 1,000,000 on any given year that would differ.

Bill.Satellite how would you know whether or not it is worth someone else's time? You have no idea what they are interested in or what they find enjoyable. Clearly you don't think it is worth YOUR time. At best you can tell what you were looking for and didn't find. OTOH you certainly have an opinion :)

In case you missed my first post, the answer is NO, Quartzsite in NOT worth the your time.

Saturday will be a bike ride out to Oatman and then a stop in Phoenix to visit friends before returning home to Tucson. Waaay too much fun.

I'm not sure what hours you took that survey, but there are more vendors in and around the tent than in years past, and other vendors starting to spill onto Main St. that have previously been a parkinglot. The traffic the 1st 3 days has equaled what it was 10 years ago, WAY more than last year, but thats part of the fun isn't it?

New for this year is a gun and ammo show for two days that was completely packed to the point they are looking for a bigger building next year.

Also new is a KCBS sanctioned (they say) BBQ contest coming up this weekend along with a fireworks show. They also had the fireworks tonight around 7-7:30 while coming back into town

Just returned yesterday from our 9 day trip to Quartzsite, Laughlin and Vegas. The crowds were way down this year, as noted above at least half of the booths were closed up, no way there were more than previous years.

Usually by 11 in the morning you can hardly walk in or around the big tent due to the mob of folks enjoying the show. This picture was taken at 11 on Tuesday the 24th and as you can clearly see there were not many folks in attendance. It was cool and windy and hopefully the weather improved after we left:

Because we gamble at the Riverside I usually can stay for free at the RV park. Instead of me using one of their hotel rooms I trade them for an RV spot. We usually stay way on the top level. Plenty of room on all the sites I have seen there.

We did Laughlin last year at the Riverside...stand by for it being packed. I moved sites three times in a little over a week. Never had before been placed in the first level...we lasted a day there....Very close quarters. Still had Fun just crowded with snowbirds.

We just took two non RVing friends for a day trip to Q - 2 hours from Indio - and they had a blast with the shopping and touring new RVs they never have any intention of buying and just a bit of off roading in my Jeep.

The weather was good for us and the crowds and traffic were light enough to get around, many vendors in the swap meet were busy and we all bought "stuff". Way too much fun.
