Is DynoMax made by Freightliner?

I just got the shop report from the RV Dealer that had the alignment done on my coach 4 days before I took delivery. I have a 2006 Country Coach with a DynoMax Chassis, the shop report used the spec's for a Freightliner Custom Chassis Corp: 1995: XB/XC/Powerline Chassis with/ Independent Front Suspension.

Is this correct?

Is DynoMax made by Freightliner?

  • FTL some times uses Neway and I do not know about Holland. I agree and stated that CC made there own raised rail chassis.

CC purchased parts from every where and assembled them to or on there own designed raised rail chassis. If they purchased front end components from FTL then I would assume they would use FTL specs in the assembly.

The front end is not a Freightliner part. It could be either a Holland or Neway.

The DynoMax chassis was made in house at the Country Coach factory
  • go to the Country Coach yahoo group and post this question. There is also a previous Country Coach technician Kevin Waite that monitors the yahoo group and might have access to info on your coach or know where to send you to get the info. We have an '04 Country Coach. It is a proprietary chassis. Country Coach has the specs. Our front end is Neway.

    My coach is a Neway...
  • Go to www.countrycoach.com and either send a question or call tech support and they will give you the alignment specs for your chassis.

  • The Dyno is a CC exclusive chassis. If the alignment specs are needed call CC and they can email you the pamplet that has the specs in it for your coach to be aligned properly
  • And what specs do you expect the alignment shop to use?

Will the specs that Freightliner used on their chassis work with your chassis manufacture?

My guess is that you need the tires to point forward within a certain "range" from toe out to toe in, and a certain spec for how far the tire can lean to the left or right, and other specs.

So if the Freightliner says it must point forward give or take the tires being pointed to the outside by 0.125" or towards each other by 0.125" is that not going to work on your Country Coach chassis? Chances are that the tires are pointed directly forward, and the alignment shop adjusted it so that the distance from center of the tires is equal front and back, while the top of the tires typically lean in a couple of degrees, just like any pickup truck or other heavy duty trucks do.

    Good Luck,

    Fred.

I think the Dynomax was CC's proprietary chassis. I watched them build one from scratch back in about 2004. I am sure a CC owner will step in but there is a shop in Oregon that is owned by one of the Lees who built CC. I doubt that FL specs would be correct. I would run away from your alignment shop if that was the best they could do !
