Levelling jacks. Looks low after retracting.

Another question....

I have noticed that my levelling jacks seem low when retraced. Especially the rear ones. I may just be paranoid. The control panel says they are up.

It really looks as if it could maybe come up another 1/2 inch. Maybe. But even then, they are only about 7 or 8 inches off the ground. Seems like a steep drive way could make one of them scrape.

It's a 08 fleetwood fiesta and the jacks are electric. Is this normal?

Thanks.

  • I think i was perhaps making a fuss about nothing. Good to know. :)
  • I thought the same thing on my 08 Bounder and was told this was the normal setting. Agreed the rear looks like they could scrape on a steep incline, but they never have. You do have to be careful going over speed bumps because the rear jack base plate can come down on the speed bump if you don't ease over them.
  • I think you need to take a picture of the offending jacks to show us. But really, 8" off the ground isn't bad at all. Mine are 6" or so...but they're hydraulic.

AFA steep driveways go, things scrape all the time. Which is why most people carry some wood with them to make small ramps. Just an inch or two makes all the difference.
