Location of 40 amp fuse for HWH Levelers

I realize that the subject of nonfunctioning levelers has been addressed previously. However, during troubleshooting of my nonfunctioning levelers I realize I cannot locate a fuse that may be the source of my problem. Can anyone help me locate the 40 amp fuse on the (black) 6100 wire? 2003 Itasca Suncruiser IFG33V Workhorse Chassis with HWH 310 leveling system.

  • Thanks so much for all the replies. I finally located the fuse holder. It was within a few inches of the solenoid. The 40 amp fuse had failed, taking the fuse holder with it. Replacement of fuse and holder was cheap, quick and simple. Everything works now. Unfortunately, I now have an extra 310 series control box that I ordered thinking it was the problem, as I originally diagnosed from the HWH troubleshooting steps. By the way, my HWH contact was also quite helpful when I contacted HWH directly. Wish I had started with HWH and with this forum before troubleshooting on my own.
  • download a service manual for your system from the hwh website. it will show the location of the fuse as related to the pump assembly. the location of the pump is
wherever the manufacturer chooses to put it.
the fuse holder is part of a #10 black or dark blue wire. that wire is installed on the master relay. it is on the same stud that the 12 volt battery supply cable is installed, about 3 inches from the stud. the location should not vary from one coach to another.
please feel free to call me if you need further help. my cell is 602-549-3638. i do work for hwh. i do not sell parts or leveling systems on this site. i am available for diagnosis only.

  • I called Coach-Net who put me in touch with Itasca when I had issues with the HWH system, and they asked me on which day did I think that my MH was manufactured (in humor, I think?). I said that I had no idea, and they said that it could be in one of several locations depending on who did the installation and when? I never did find it, but was able to work around the problem. They actually called me back several times with new suggestions that they were discussing among themselves during a break.

all The systems from HWH that I have worked on have a 30 or 40 amp fuse in a inline water proof holder right at the motor/solenoid system
HOWEVER there is also a control system fuse(10 amps) usually found in the main 12 V fuse centers If either fuse blows system will not function
NOTE If the panel lite lite up its not the fuse in the main fuse center "BUT" there is also a FIVE amp fuse right on the end of the HWH controller usually found under the dash on the drivers side on older models but again if the panel lites display it also not this fuse
  • Mine was an in-line fuse near the battery. I'm thinking of replacing it with a self resetting circuit breaker.
  • Did you look in the battery control center?
You may need to follow the wire from the pump back toward the batteries.
  • On my 03 Itasca Suncruiser thier was a fuse in a weatherproof fuse holder in line, on the black wire running to the pump, probably within a couple of feet of the pump assembly located in front of the radiator, had to crawl under from the front of the MH to get at it.

  • I think that is the one that caused me problems on my W22 '03. I had Holland Motor Homes fix it but I think it was under the dash by the controller for the jacks. The fuse holder had melted.
